Here's what the options screen looks like.

The Auction Ending section controls how the time is printed on the main auction screen. If you select Time Left, the amount of time left in each auction is shown. If you select Ending Date, the ending date of the auction is shown. . The Ending Date is based on your computers' time so you don't have to adjust auction end times for eBay time's time zone differences.

The User Information section is only used if you use the sniping feature. In order to bid on an auction, the snipe feature needs to know your eBay user name and password. If you don't plan to use the sniping feature, you can leave these blank.

The Scheduled Update section allows you to set up a time to run your update from eBay. This is very useful if you're looking at a large number of auctions or you have a slower Internet connection. To turn this feature on, click the Enabled check box, and set the Hour and Minute you want the update to start. The Hour can be 0 to 23 where 0 is Midnight, 12 is noon and 23 is 11:00 PM. For this feature to work, Auction Chief must be running on your computer at the time you desire the update to start.

The Completed auctions grace period controls how many days Auction Chief remembers auctions that you were watching after they've finished. You can see these auctions by selecting the menu option Auctions - Show finished watched auctions.

The Max attempts to read an URL is how many times Auction Chief tries to read a eBay web page before giving up. Normally, if Auction Chief can't read a web page, it's because eBay's servers are down and Auction Chief you just have to wait for them to come back up.

The Auctions per search URL limit is the number of auctions each search URL can retrieve from eBay before stopping. You can make this number bigger at the expense of your updates from eBay taking longer.

If you set the Watched auction reminder in minutes option to a number other 0, then when auctions that you are watching reach that many minutes, AuctionChief will pop up a message telling you. For this to work you must have Auction Chief is running on your computer. You may have only one auction reminder showing on your screen at a time.

Begin snipe mode when there's x minutes left in an auction sets when Auction Chief goes into snipe mode. When Auction Chief is in snipe mode, you can't use the Main Auction Screen.

Snipe an auction when there's x seconds left in an auction tells Auction Chief when to bid on a sniped auction. This time has to be long enough for AuctionChief to read the auction page from eBay and send the bid to eBay. With a fast Internet connection, 10 seconds is plenty of time. With a slower connection you may need 15 or more. You may have to experiment to find how many seconds is appropriate for your Internet connection.

The Use narrow screen format option, rearranges the Main Auction Screen for 800 X 600 resolution. If you change this option you must exit Auction Chief and re-run it for this change to take effect.
