The serious eBay buyer's browser
Is it ok to use Auction Chief on my home computer and my work computer?
One registration is sufficient for all the computers that you use.
Can I transfer searches and auctions between computers?
If you want to transfer your searches, copy the category.txt file from the Auction Chief directory (usually \program files\auction chief) of the first computer to the second. You could send it as an email attachment. To transfer your watched and ignored auctions, copy the auction.txt file. To transfer your snipes, copy the snipe.txt file and to transfer your options, copy the options.txt file.
Which eBay searches does Auction Chief support?
Auction Chief supports regular eBay searches and eBay categories, Buy It Now searches, Seller searches, Buyer Searches, eBay Motors and eBay stores. The following international eBay searches are supported, eBay Australia, eBay Austria, eBay Belgium, eBay Canada, eBay France, eBay Germany, eBay Ireland, eBay Italy, eBay Netherlands, eBay New Zealand, eBay Singapore, eBay Spain, eBay Switzerland and eBay United Kingdom.
Why doesn't Auction Chief report the same number of auctions that eBay reports?
Say you're searching for Beatles CDs on eBay. On the first page of the search eBay prints that it found 1311 Beatles CDs. On the last page of the search, page 20, eBay displays that it found 965 Beatles CDs. If you add that search to Auction Chief, Auction Chief will report 965 auctions found. What's going on here? I believe that eBay estimates the number of auctions returned by a search in order to return the search page faster. On the last page of a search, eBay knows how many auctions there really are and displays that number.
